For fans of Son Lux, Apparat, Moderat, make way for Sacred Animals, aka the multi-talented musician Darragh Nolan. Hailing from Wexford in Ireland, Nolan strongly believes in the magic and power of music, especially in those moments when we pause and submit to the experience. It won’t be much of a struggle when it comes to his latest track ‘Mono’, which is a progressive production of textured beats and vibrant synthwork. Although largely an electronic composition, there’s something organic and living about the way that each element builds and evolves of the three minutes and nineteen seconds. From the perspective of Sacred Animals, “'Mono' is a visceral speeding journey through that split second where you have an understanding of what it means to be a spirit having a human existence, just before you’ve lost it again.” The visuals also celebrate this joy of living in the present, with powerful choreography and live drum playing that show what can be done with mindful attentiveness to the here and now. - Hannah Thacker
